Sorry, this post is long overdue! One of our team members wrote this as soon as the details were released, but it got mixed up in the article submissions and was never posted… that’s why we’re only now bringing you this awesome information! Sorry about that!

Samsung S8 Samsung S8+

Samsung have really killed it this year with the innovative design on the all new phones, The Samsung Galaxy S8 & The Samsung Galaxy S8+. The phones have a near identical design (Except S8+ is 0.4” bigger). Both are immaculate in design and the full curved screen with a near bezeless display makes it perfect.

The main specifications of The Samsung Galaxy S8+ include its tall 1440×2960 display with 529 pixels per inch, the display also comes with super AMOLED which looks spectacular, the whole screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Central Processing Unit found in the S8 & the S8+ is the all new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. This CPU is currently the best mobile processing unit in the consumer market by a longshot! This great CPU is paired with the upgraded Adreno 540. The Adreno 540 is similar to its previous predecessor the Adreno 530 but it is more powerful spec wise.

Power & Camera

The S8 does have its flaws with only a 3000 mAh battery to support that crazy screen resolution will struggle to be enough. It would have been a safer option for Samsung to go with at least 3200+ mAh. Both the phone comes with an average 12 MP camera (2160p), this also could have been higher and finally both phones come with 4 Gigabytes of RAM which is average but definitely could have been bumped up to 6 so users could multitask or switch through applications while keeping more applications running without the phone slowing down. All in all both phones are still solid.

The S8 & S8+ are both contenders for the best phone of 2017. The S8+ will be released at $850 while the S8 will be released at $750, both in USD. There are only two differences that separate the phones which equates for the price gap. The S8+ has a 3500 mAh battery while the S8 only has a 3000 mAh battery, the S8+ comes with a 6.2” screen instead of the S8’s 5.8” screen (Obviously, it is called ‘S8 PLUS’ for a reason). In conclusion, I personally believe the S8+ is worth the extra $100 USD since it has a 500 mAh bigger battery and a 6.2” screen which is huge but the big battery will hopefully help support the beautiful AMOLED screen.
